
Application Process
Step 1: Visit the Garfield Arms
All prospective tenants must view the exact apartment for which they are applying.1 This can be done by contacting the resident manager at (805) 543-7835 to discuss availabilities and arrange an appointment. We respect the privacy of our current residents, so please make sure to give the manager reasonable notice before you decide to visit. Please do not disturb current residents!
Step 2: Submit an application
After the resident manager has showed you the apartment, he will refer you to California-West's San Luis Obispo office2 where you may submit an application. The application fee is $20 per resident and all residents are required to submit an application. Processing time is usually 2-5 business days but may be shorter or longer depending on the circumstances.
Since Garfield Arms' location makes it very attractive to college students, and most college students do not have full time jobs, cosigners with a good credit history and adequate income are usually required for each resident.

Step 3: Put down a deposit
Once your application has been approved, a representative from California-West will contact you and ask for a deposit in the form of a Cashier's Check. You will probably be asked to deliver the deposit within 1-3 days after being approved. After receiving your deposit check we will take your apartment off the market.
